A Message from The Superintendent - Snowstorm Update

A Message from The Superintendent - Snowstorm Update
Good afternoon, Central Islip!

Thank you for your kindness and patience during this unprecedented snowstorm. Schools will reopen tomorrow and operate on a regular schedule. As we return, we kindly ask families and neighbors to help us prioritize student safety. Please remind students to use extra caution while walking to and from bus stops and while waiting for the bus.

If you live near a bus stop, we would greatly appreciate your assistance in ensuring the area is cleared and safe for students to stand and gather. Your partnership plays an important role in keeping all of our children safe.

Please also note that, due to snow-covered and narrowed roadways in some areas, buses may experience slight delays as drivers carefully navigate neighborhood streets. We appreciate your patience over the next few days as we work together to ensure a safe and smooth return for everyone.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our school community.

Warmly,
Dr. Sharon A. Dungee
Superintendent of Schools
